The Meridian Conference is an annual policy forum that brings together government officials involved in developing policies related to Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP). It serves as a platform for the discussion of issues and sharing of experiences. This conference is part of an on-going process to forge relationships and promote cross-boundary cooperation in order to address the global nature of CIIP.

The Meridian Conference 2008 is hosted by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and will be held in Asia - Singapore for the first time. Continuing in the same spirit as the past conferences, Singapore and the fellow members of the Programme Committee will make the Meridian Conference 2008 a trusted environment for open discussion between senior government representatives.

The Meridian Conference 2008 aims to gain strategic insights into the implementation of CIIP policies, and the development of "actionable" policies that are effective on the ground. The Meridian Conference 2008 will examine key challenges for CIIP policy makers around the world - how to strike a delicate balance between security and costs, while addressing mandate, jurisdiction and funding in an increasingly connected world. Presentations by governments and businesses worldwide, as well as panel discussions and workshops on key issues, will allow the participants to be engaged in meaningful exchanges of opinions and ideas.

To ensure a conducive environment for quality discussions, up to three representatives from each country/economy will be invited to the Meridian Conference 2008.
